Dempsey Leads Discussion on Hygienically Clean Standard

Mark Lewis, Corporate Sales Manager for Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply Inc. teamed up with TRSA consultant and George Washington University instructor David Goldsmith, PhD. to discuss the Hygienically Clean Food Service certification program at the March 10th 2016 ARTA Conference in Orlando, FL. Goldsmith and Lewis outlined the advantages of the Hygienically Clean program for rental textiles such as napkins, tablecloths, aprons and towels used in restaurants and other eating places.

They noted that Hygienically Clean certification, which recognizes commercial laundries that commit to cleanliness through third-party, quantified biological testing and inspection, has advantages over a rival program sponsored by NSF International. Advantages to laundry customers include fully independent, third-party testing and inspection of each plant that is certified. Dempsey Highlighted for "Bringing New Jobs"

The Times-Tribune highlighted Dempsey for bringing 30 new jobs with its $10 million expansion. Although some of the investment was in a building expansion, much of the investment was into highly advanced, automated machinery to process the linens, uniforms, towels and floor mats rented to businesses in their growing geographic footprint. The new machinery will not replace workers, instead, it will make their jobs more pleasant and increase product quality. One new machine engages an electronic eye to identify and reject linens with stains or tears.
