Hygienically Clean Food Service certification recognizes textile services operations supplying the restaurant industry and other food service establishments. Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association represents more than 7,500 foodservice and lodging establishments. Its mission is to promote, protect and improve the hospitality industry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Buy Local Coalition is a group of locally-owned and operated businesses dedicated to educating the public about the benefits of using local vendors and encouraging other businesses and individuals to do the same.

In July 2020, Mark Lewis, Dempsey’s Corporate Sales Manager, was interviewed by Total Food Service. He shared his knowledge and expertise to help restaurants create successful reopening strategies that include linens and uniforms laundered in a Certified Hygienically Clean laundry.

In June 2014, The Washington Post Online featured an article asking, “Why are so many restaurants giving me napkins that don’t work?” The article explains the difference between spun polyester and basic/filament polyester. In May 19, 2014, Food Service Monthly Online featured Dempsey sponsoring a Farm-to-Table Event in celebration of Earth Week, kicking off Dempsey’s campaign to champion awareness for sustainable business practices within the restaurant industry. Special guest speakers included EatWell Natural Farm Manger, Erica Porch, and Pipe Dream Fromage Cheese maker, Brad Parker, each of whom shared their passion for farm-to-table cuisine and interest in sustainable agriculture.

The February/March 2014 issue of Restaurant Facility Business Magazine featured Dempsey as a “green” supplier to the restaurant in its cover story. A leader in sustainable restaurant operations, EatWell DC chose Dempsey’s linen service to help green its supply chain.

In October 2013, Food Service Monthly Magazine featured Dempsey President PJ.Dempsey, asking, “Is Your Restaurant at Risk?” He explained the danger of fire from the spontaneous combustion of greasy restaurant kitchen towels.
