42 CFR 416.51(b) requires that ASCs follow nationallyrecognized guidelines for Infection Control and specifically lists Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) as an acceptable source. 42 CFR §416.41(a) Contract Services Guidelines requires that contractor services must be included in the ASC’s QAPI program.

Attire:
Scrubs, Lab Coats and Barrier Gowns can be rented and laundered by Dempsey.**

Accreditation:
Surgical attire can be laundered in Dempsey’s health care-accredited laundry facility.** Accreditation achieved through the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC).

Documentation:
To support your QA/PI program, documentation can be provided by Dempsey to show an assessment of your linen service contractor.
