Most Reliable Deliveries
We understand how uniform shortages frustrate employees and waste valuable management time.
At Dempsey, we leverage technologies, like our SmartScan™ uniform tracking and PalmPC™ systems, to ensure complete and accurate deliveries of all the garments that comprise each individual’s uniforms. This helps eliminate human sorting errors and return thousands of uniforms to the correct employees.

Dempsey Uniform is a highly respected industry leader.
Established in 1778 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly during the American Revolutionary War, Martinsburg has played a significant role in our country’s history. Partly a consequence of its proximity to the Mason-Dixon Line, it saw uniforms from both sides during the American Civil War. During the conflict, Union and Confederate armies battled over the strategically located town and passed control back and forth an astonishing 37 times.
Robert Brown, alias Thomas Jones, known historically as the “Father of the Underground Railroad”, escaped from slavery and was aided in Martinsburg on his travels north to Philadelphia and freedom. It was also the home of Isabelle “Belle” Boyd, a noted spy for the Confederacy. The Belle Boyd House is currently a museum, featuring a restored Victorian entry hall, Civil War artifacts, and rotating collections on display.
The Adam Stephen House, constructed of native limestone and finished around 1789, has been restored and is furnished with 18th century decor. Next door is the Triple Brick Museum, a former barracks for railroad workers that has been converted into a museum, housing items and artifacts that tell the history of the city, including surveying equipment, spinning wheels, railroad items, and other period pieces from the early 19th to early 20th centuries.
The “Gateway to the Shenandoah Valley”, Martinsburg enjoys a thriving tourism trade and hosts a myriad of corporate retreats and meetings, often facilitated by The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention and Visitor Bureau. Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply is pleased to support the growing business and service community by providing high quality uniform rentals to organizations including the Berkeley Medical Center.
“For the Kids, by George” is an interactive children’s museum built inside the historical B&O Train Station. The museum brings to life historical figures like George Washington, describing his activities in the area, such as surveying. Visitors navigate “Tunnels Through Time”, moving from a 17th century Native American village to an 18th century furnished log cabin, and finally ending up at a 19th century general store. The “Working on the Railroad” exhibit, housed in the oldest part of the building – the original waiting area for the train station – describes career paths available to residents at that time. The Wonderment Puppet Theater, another children’s center, presents puppet shows and theater events during six original shows each year. Audiences adore their unusual, whimsical mix of magic, old world puppeteering, and historical Americana.
